Our 81st Season: Creativity, Community & Record-Breaking Growth
The 2025–2026 season was one of the most exciting in our club’s history — a year
bursting with fresh ideas, enthusiastic participation, and an incredible range of
photographic talent.
A New Structure, A New Energy
We refreshed our competition format to give members more freedom and flexibility.
Photographers could now enter up to four images per competition — Prints, PDIs, or
a mix of both. We also streamlined two major events:
Sussex Scene PDI & Print combined into one vibrant evening
Merit Competitions brought together into single, high-energy events
These changes didn’t just tidy the calendar — they sparked creativity, boosted
engagement, and made entering competitions easier and more enjoyable.
And the results were extraordinary.
Our 80th season saw 322 entries, but our 81st season saw 751 entries - more than
double — even with one fewer PDI competition.
Our members didn’t just participate; they thrived.
Spotlight on Our Photographers
Every season brings standout images, but this year several members shone across
multiple genres. Here’s a quick spotlight on the photographers who helped define our
81st Season:
⭐ Tatiana Daks
A powerhouse across PDI and Print. Tatiana won the Digital Merit Trophy, placed in
multiple PDI categories, and delivered strong Print results including Landscape and
Sussex Scene.
⭐ Sarah Leighton
Winner of the Summer Cup, multiple Merit PDI placements, winner of the Merit
Print Competition, and joint 2nd in the Merit Cup – Prints. A consistently creative
voice throughout the season.
⭐ Wendy Eve ARPS
A season of excellence: winner of Landscape PDI, winner of Nature PDI, 3rd in
Best Print of the Year, and winner of the Merit Cup – Prints with the highest
aggregate score.
⭐ Marriam Hughes

Winner of the Sussex Scene PDI, plus multiple topthree placements including 2nd in
Best PDI of the Year. A strong presence in both documentary and creative work.
⭐ Diane Burford
Winner of Photo Art PDI, and multiple topthree placements including 3rd in Best PDI
of the Year. A standout in imaginative and atmospheric imagery.
These photographers — along with many others — helped make this season one of
our most inspiring yet.
