DESCRIPTION:📅 Guest Speaker – 24th September 2025\n🎤 Gordon Small BPE*Talk: “Spain’s Wildlife Within 90 Minutes of Madrid” \nLittlehampton & District Camera Club is delighted to present our first guest speaker of the 2025–2026 season – Gordon Small BPE*\, a renowned wildlife photographer with decades of experience capturing nature at its best. \nSince joining the RSPB in 1987\, Gordon has honed his photography skills as a way to aid wildlife identification. He began giving talks in 1992 and now travels widely across the South of England\, presenting to groups such as RSPB branches\, Women’s Institutes\, Photographic Societies\, Wildlife Trusts\, U3A\, and the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust at Arundel. \nThis presentation is based on three visits Gordon made to the Madrid region between 2023 and 2024: \n\nNovember 2023 – to the southwest near Talavera de la Reina\, photographing the Iberian Lynx\, Spanish Imperial Eagles\, Azure-winged Magpies\, and Goshawk.\nApril/May 2024 – returning to capture Spanish Imperial Eagles\, European Bee-eaters\, Hoopoe\, Vultures\, and wading birds.\nLater in 2024 – visiting the north around Cantelejo for Golden Eagle\, Blue Rock Thrush\, Dupont’s Lark\, Rock Sparrow\, Woodchat Shrike\, Cirl Bunting\, Turtle Doves\, and even a rare Western Orphean Warbler.\n\n🌍 Expect a stunning photographic journey that combines rare wildlife encounters with expert insights into fieldcraft\, habitats\, and photographic technique. \n\n📍 Venue: Methodist Church Hall\, Claigmar Road\, Rustington\, BN16 2NL🕖 Time: 7:15pm for a 7:30pm start💷 Entry: Non-members welcome (£5 on the door) \n🔗 Website: www.littlehamptoncameraclub.com📧 Email: clubsec@littlehamptoncameraclub.com📱 Facebook: Littlehampton and District Camera Club
